Grace Village midwife

"Natural birth services inspired by grace."

I am a fan of the old art of the language of flowers. The flower pictured here is a Rue Anemone and means "grace & clear vision." I chose this as a symbol of my midwifery practice because I arrived here only by grace and have a clear vision of what I want my practice to look like. I would be honored if you would join me and allow me to care for you during your pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum.

Grace village midife

A Washington State Licensed Midwife is a healthcare practitioner that specializes in care for women during pregnancy, labor, birth, and up to 6-weeks postpartum for the woman and 2-weeks postpartum for the baby. A midwife approaches care in a wholistic way, believing in including care for the mental and emotional health of the woman, as well as her and her baby’s physical health. Midwives believe in providing enough education so clients are able to make informed decisions about their care, fostering and empowering personal autonomy in the client.

Meet the midwife, Skaidre brown, lm, cpm

This is a solo practice with one midwife. To keep your experience intimate and as safe as possible, there will be 1-2 assistants at your birth in addition to the midwife.

A bit of quick information: I do not currently "take" any insurance and operate on a cash pay system. In some cases, I am able to provide what's called a Superbill that can be sent to your insurance company by you. This way you can get reimbursed for some or all of the fees you pay me. This allows me to provide a sliding scale and flexible payment plans. Barter will also be considered on a case-by-case basis.
